Becky Namgauds

Becky Namgauds is a choreographer and dance artist creating intense, powerful work that sits between dance, performance art and installation. Inspired by personal and political issues, her work is female-driven and internationally influenced with recurring themes of feminism, femicide and the environment. Choreographically, she draws on a wide range of movement practices, including contemporary dance and Capoeira.

Namgauds has created work for theatres, outdoor festivals, galleries and music videos and has collaborated with Hofesh Shechter Company and LIFT. Her works tour nationally and internationally and have recently been performed at Dance Umbrella, and British Council Edinburgh Showcase 2019. Namgauds’ solo Exhibit F will tour in 2020 as part of Out Of The System Mixed Bill in Kent and London.

 

She teaches in the UK and abroad for professional dancers, universities and youth groups.
